It's 130am and I think I'm ready to go!
I will start the long journey home at 230am with a 4.5 hour bus ride to Incheon airport followed by an 8hour wait at the airport until my flight leaves at 620pm.
Then I get to sit on the plane for 12 hours to Vancouver. After that I have to balli balli through customs and catch my connecting Air Canada flight to Castlegar where my journey will end. Temporarily.
After Darren's brother's wedding on the weekend I will then drive back to Winnipeg with Darren and his 2 sisters, about a what, 20 hour drive??
Oh boy!
Here I go!
see you all soon!

Saying Goodbye
My 2 lovely friends Marnie and Janice will not be staying another year in Korea so we had to say our official goodbye to each other this past weekend. It's so strange that we are now saying goodbye. It seems we were just at the Vancouver airport getting ready to embark on this adventure together.

The year has flown by.
Good luck Marnie and Janice in finding jobs and living with your folks!!
I know you can't wait Marnie!

2 more sleeps
Tonight is my last sleep in my bed here in Mokpo!
Preparing to leave for Canada almost doesn't seem real. I know I'm going home but it hasn't really hit yet.
Tomorrow will be my last day of school and I will then take an overnight bus that will take me straight to Incheon airport. The travel marathon will begin at 230am.
I will then spend the day at the airport, minor suckage but oh well, and then depart at 620pm.
In case you were dying to know my itinerary!

Close Call!
A few weeks ago I had made an appt at a hair salon to get some corn rows done.
So today I go all excited and when I get to the salon the woman puts a smock and towel on me and all that, which I wasn't really sure why, b/c I'm just getting braids. WHY do I need to wear a smock?
I see a woman mixing together what looks like stuff that you would use when you get a color put in your hair. Hmmm, that's not for me so whatever.
I see my hair girl put a brush in the goo and go to put it on my hair. Whoa whoa whoa. WHAT is that I said??
Of course she doesn't know what I'm saying. There's me pointing at the brush with a confused look on my face and she doesn't know what the hell I'm talking about.
I'm saying braids, braids.
Predicting that something like this might happen, I brought my camera along with me so I could show them a picture of my hair when they were in braids before.
Ohhhhhh she said. braid-uhhh. Not BLEACH! they thought that I had wanted to bleach my hair. Yes, braids and bleach sound so much alike.
The worst part is that I only wanted braids for the front half of my head so I could have walked out of there with having only the front part of my hair bleached!
Hellooooo!!!!??????!??!?!
3 more days till Canada 3 more days till Canada!
Sooooo the lady made a phone call and then was nice enough to walk me over to a different salon that actually does braids and stuff.
Turns out the lady who did my hair did a wicked awesome job and I will go back to her from now on.
close one!

If you're bored at work....
Check out this site:
http://www.fandeath.net/index.htm
For those of you living in Korea, you already know about this, but for everyone back home you have to take a look at this.
This is a very serious thing here in Korea and many, many people 100% believe that this is true. Doctors have written papers about it and almost everyone believes it.
When we first arrived last August it was still brutally hot. Some fellow waygook teachers were telling me how their co-teachers had told them to make sure you turn the fan off when you go to bed at night.
Why? they asked.
Ohh fan death the Korean teacher responded as if, HOW do you not know about this!?
What are you talking about said the waygook?
Fan death. If you leave the fan on in a closed room while you are sleeping you can die. I've seen it on tv.
WELL! If you've seen it on tv it MUST be true.
check it out.
