Sleep Much?

I think that Koreans are vampires.

They come alive at night and keep their neighbours (me) from sleeping.

The kids that live above me are up running around until midnight, sometimes past, and it seems that everyone is still up fairly early in the morning.

I think that I am cursed to have noisy neighbours that live above me.

On Spence St. in the ghetto of Winnipeg, I was told to "Fuck off" by my stick thin neighbour that lived above me who you would have thought was 300 pounds.
She always seemed to be dragging or banging furniture or something like that while wearing heels and stomping on the hardwood floor.

What bothers me the most, is wondering WHAT THE HELL ARE PEOPLE DOING up there!

Really. WHAT are you doing that is SO noisy.

I know what I do in my apartment and it's not much.

sit on the couch or at the computer, walk softly to the kitchen or to the bathroom. Repeat.

Seriously, what do people do that can make so much noise?

It doesn't help that for some reason I've been blessed/cursed with super-hero hearing and even with ear plugs in, I can still hear things pretty clearly.

Also, I understand that this building was probably built pretty fast and sound proofing was not at the top of their work list.

From side to side, the place is great. Can't hear a thing. It's just above and on occasion the tv below.
I know a lot about my neighbours above me just through the thinness of the ceiling.

I know that the man has a severe hacking problem and it's usually the worst in the morning either after a night of being "heavy drunken" or whatever.

I get to listen to them go to the bathroom, and recently have heard them have sex which was pretty interesting as it was the FIRST time that I have heard them in the past 2 years of living here.

Darren and I were thinking that maybe the wife is banging someone else while her old man was out but nope, cause after, he started hacking away as usual.

Guess it was too much activity for his smoke filled lungs.

It also seems that the couple fights a lot and they have some good screaming matches.
I get to listen to their alarm clock or whatever the hell it is that is making this irritating sound.
There are 2 kids and they like to run around.

If you have any ideas as to what it is that people actually do in their apartments, please fill me in!
I would love to know.

Japan Day 1

After being dropped off at the wrong ferry terminal and having to walk about 10 mins. to the correct one with our big bags, we boarded the super fast ferry to Fukuoka.

The ship kind of props up on 3 leg type things and shreds through the water getting us Fukuoka in 3 hours.

We head to our hotel, which was about the equivilant of $18 bucks, dropped our stuff and headed out.

We didn't make it that far this day as this large department store caught our I so we went in.

The store has 7 floors.

2 were stationary, household stuff, bags, Valentine's Day stuff and spa/bathroom type stuff.

We only made it through the 2 stationary floors which took over an hour.

We then needed to refuel so we walked around and found a Subway.

Yes, I'm in Japan and should be eating Japanese food but we don't have a Subway or anything Western in my city of Mokpo so I was VERY happy to eat there.

While walking we stumbled upon a shrine and passerbys (sp?) were showing their respects while on their way to work or wherever.

It was cute.

Then it was back to LOFT to conquer the other 5 floors.

I spent ALL of the money I had exchanged that morning at the ferry terminal which was suppossed to last me the entire trip.

Opps.

We had a great time in that store and by the time we were done were ready for the sauna at the hotel and a good sleep.

Things I liked about Japan

It's clean

It has lots of trees

It doesn't stink

People aren't pushing and shoving, yelling, spitting or staring at you

No garbage piles on the street and it has garbage cans!

It's quiet. Horns aren't constantly honking and people aren't yelling

It's organized

It's warmer than Korea

People are attractive

Hello Kitty

People were walking their dogs not eating them

No tied up dogs

We spent the night in Busan before heading out to take the ship the next day to Fukuoka, Japan.
