The cross over into Myanmar went smoothly and we spent about an hour there walking around looking for something to eat. Something that didn't have parents. No luck. Much of what we saw was similar to Thailand but it was cool to see the locals with their painted faces. I thought that this application had some sort of beautiful spiritual significance with an interesting history behind it but nope, not really.
"Apart from cosmetic beauty, thanaka also gives a cooling sensation and provides protection from sunburn. It is believed to help remove acne and promote smooth skin. It is also an anti-fungal."
After we found some food, our driver picked us up and away we went on the 4 hour drive back to Chiang Mai. We soon stopped off at the must see attraction, The White Temple. I thought that this was just another temple but was pleasantly surprised to see the VERY artistic, creative, political works of a local artist.
The best pictures were inside of the temple that housed 4 buddhas so we didn't get any clear photos.
Delicious roti/pancake type thing filled with bean. We had 2.
The biggest avocados I have ever seen!
Temple entrance.
The nicest bathrooms ever!
