El Tunco, El Salvador
Back to beach we are.
We left beautiful Antigua Monday morning and were on the beach in El Sal by the afternoon.
This is where the surfers come. I'm a great surfer in my mind, I'm just having a little trouble
executing it in the water. Haha
El Tunco is basically 2 streets that form an L shape.
The beach itself is not that spectacular but it's good for those that can actually surf.
Although El Salvador has a bad rap from its past and is a little rough around edges it's a pretty decent place so far.
It has beauty, the highest wage in Centro America, women are seen as equals and the locals are pretty friendly.
We'll spend a few more days here and then bus it back to Nicaragua to finish out the rest of our
time in Centro America.

Coffee Tour...
Another awesome day.
With our guide Augusto we ventured off to 2 other towns situated on Lago de Atitlan.
In San Juan we wondered around and took in the local art and handmade textiles. Very mellow vibe to this town with lots of art. The artsy fartsy area for sure.
Here we went on a tour of a coffee plantation. Very interesting and informative.
After the tour we tuk tuked our way to another town nearby called San Pedro.
Even though the distance between these towns is very small, the feeling in San Pedro was much different.
Clearly the town where people come for a little more excitement.
Lots of bars and hippies.
We had one of the best lunches we've had yet at a small local restaurant that only offered 3 dishes that day from their menu.
The restaurant was called Tin Tin and had a definite infatuation with the character and comic.
After lunch we wondered around the hilly town to another beautiful church and then headed back to Panajachel.
Since then we have arrived in the colonial city of Antigua, the former capital of Guatemala.
The architecture is of course beautiful here as well offering up a paradise to photographers.
Here we've just been wandering around, taking pictures, going to the gym and of course eating sweets and drinking coffee.
On Monday we will take a shuttle to the coast in El Salvador and get back to the beach.
The cities are beautiful but I am always longing to get back to the water.
Until next time.
