Back in Nica

After traveling for the past 17 hours we have finally arrived back in San Juan Del Sur for the weekend.

Our journey started early this morning at 1am. Our taxi driver was supposed to show up at 130 to take us from El Tunco to San Salvador where we can catch the bus we have already paid for directly into Nicaragua.
We wait and we wait and we wait getting a little anxious as we don't know how long it takes to drive to San Sal and we've already dropped over $100 bucks on our tickets.

We get the security guy at our hotel to call the number on our receipt and he wakes our driver up and he rolls in about 8 minutes later rubbing his eyes.
If we didn't call, for sure he would not have woken up to pick us up.

We're driving along and then he decides to stop at the gas station store for a coffee.
At this point our bus is scheduled to leave in 40 minutes and still, we don't know how far away from the station we are.
He takes his sweet time going to the bathroom and getting his coffee.

Ugh. We finally make it to the bus depot place with plenty of time.

Now the bus we paid for is supposed to be the pimpest of the pimp buses.
The bus we board is not this pimp bus.
It's ok.

We grab our seats and get cozy and try to get some sleep but are interrupted by filling out paperwork and border crossings.

The food is quite disgusting and we don't eat it. Food snobs.

As we get close to Nicaragua we notice that the A/C has gotten pretty weak and has eventually fizzled to nothing.
It's midday. It's hot. The bus doesn't have windows that open.

This was almost as disgusting as the food. Everyone was sweating, shirts and pant legs were pulled up. Ugh, again.

We roll into Managua and unload, happy to breathe some fresh air.
We wait at the bus depot here for an hour and a half while they fix the A/C.

By the time we get back on the bus, it is late afternoon and we don't really need the air con blasting but we are all thankful to have it at this point.

We drive into the night and finally make it to our destination of Rivas, Nicaragua.
From here we have to haggle for the price we want to pay the taxi driver to take us to SJDS.

17 hours later, we're here.
Had a good meal and a shower, all happy and ready for a good night's sleep.

The best part, Randy and I made a bet about what time we would arrive in SJDS, the loser owing the other a 30 min massage.

Oh yeah, I won and am ready to collect my massage!
